I had a great amount of fun with mixng and sound designing Bat Boy. Creating a VCA cuing sheet and then programmnig on the QL1 was very difficult but was extremely rewarding. Learning how to truly mix a musical was a great educational experience. Bat Boy: The Musical is a comedic rock musical based on a 1992 tabloid story about a half-boy, half-bat creature discovered in a West Virginia cave. The show follows Edgar, the Bat Boy, as he's taken in by a local veterinarian's family and struggles to fit into a society that fears and rejects him. Through a mix of horror, satire, and rock music, the musical explores themes of prejudice, identity, and acceptance.

Sound designing Blue Stockings for my first mainstage show at USC was an incredible opportunity. For this show, I worked closely with my mentor, Phil Allen, to create the system design and paperwork that would assist my design for the show. I also worked closely with the director, Susan Dalian, so that my sound design matched her vision for the show. Blue Stockings by Jessica Swale takes place in 1896 at Girton College, Cambridge. At Girton College, four women challenge society's expectations by pursuing higher education at a time when women couldn't earn degrees. The play looks at themes of gender equality, intellectual ambition, and the sacrifices involved in fighting for women's rights in academia.

Sound designing Falsettos was simultaneously the best and most challenging project I've worked on so far. I collaborated closely with the director, Anton Peter, to ensure that the sound design complimented the emotional depth and technical demands of the show without overpowering it. Set in the late 1970s and early 1980s New York, Falsettos follows Marvin as he navigates complex relationships with his son, ex-wife, boyfriend, and psychiatrist. Through our collaborative process, the sound design was crafted to underscore the show's themes of love, loss, and resilience, amplifying the impact of this story about chosen family and the power of connection.

Kate Hamill’s adaptation of Sense and Sensibility explores the tension between reputation and following one's heart, focusing on the fortunes of the Dashwood sisters. Set in the Regency Era but featuring a modern "girly-pop" soundtrack, the play, directed by Kit McKay and performed by High School Repertory Theatre students, offers a humorous yet poignant reflection on love, honor, and patriarchal structures. I worked closely with the director of this show to create my sound design.

Much Ado About Nothing tells the story of two couples, Beatrice and Benedick, and Claudio and Hero, and their journey towards love and marriage. The play is filled with witty banter, mistaken identities, and a villainous plot to ruin Hero's reputation. In the end, love triumphs and the couples are happily united. For this show, I mixed the microphones.
